AFP punished Swiatek for one month after a positive drug test on November 28, 2024, at 15:41.
After persuading the International Tennis Integrity Agency that the drug test was not deliberate, French Open winner Iga Swiatek avoided a one-month suspension, the ITIA said Thursday.
In August 2024, Swiatek from Poland tested positive for the illegal drug trimetazidine (TMZ) in an out-of-competition sample; nevertheless, the ITIA acknowledged that the positive result was due to contamination.
